Having worked in a paraplanning role for almost a decade, I have achieved an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and am now pursuing my dream of becoming a financial planner.
When speaking to clients, I enjoy exploring various aspects of their finances, including investing, taxes, savings, retirement, estates, and insurance. My goal is to create tailored financial plans that help them achieve their long-term financial objectives.
I believe financial planning should be accessible and empowering. I strive to develop personalised strategies that reflect my clients’ needs and aspirations. What I enjoy most about my job is the pride I take in alleviating my clients’ financial concerns by educating them about financial wellbeing and the behavioural aspects of investing.
When I’m not helping people with their finances, you’ll find me hiking and wild-camping. I reserve Thursday nights for 5--aside football, always followed by some post-game socialising.
What’s your goal for the future: I hope to live a happy and fulfilling life and want to empower my clients to do the same. Life is a collection of your memories and I want to make as many of these as possible.
In my role, I support advisers, process new business and provide ongoing service to existing clients. I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with our clients and helping them achieve their financial goals by assisting both our advisers and paraplanners.
I have completed several CII qualifications in Financial Planning and am working towards obtaining the Diploma in the future. This will enhance my knowledge and technical understanding of key financial planning areas.
Outside of work, I’m an avid baker and love creating delicious treats for my family and friends. I’m also currently planning my wedding after recently getting engaged!
Goal for the future? To travel more and make amazing memories!
It’s my job to help my clients and their families get what they want out of life. This often means I’m talking to them about their financial future and taking away the anxiety and mystery of investing, which enables them to make key decisions and have financial peace of mind.
One thing I love is when they can really see the end goal after chatting to us – that’s a great day at the office! It’s what I’m really passionate about: Financial education. There are so many negative headlines out there which can cause lots of anxiety and stress and I help give our clients clarity about their financial future.
When I’m not doing that, I’m trying to bring financial education to people around me, whether that’s running community courses helping people budget or going into local schools to talk about minimising student debt.
What’s your goal for the future: Like most of the clients we deal with, my goals are similar to their own. To continue to enjoy my work and try and maintain a good balance between work and family life. For us all to be healthy as a family and for my husband and I to be able to maintain our current lifestyle in retirement.
Amy oversees the people and culture functions of the business.
I really like how we work with our clients. I get to develop strong relationships and get an understand of who they are as a person both professionally and personally, all whilst working with them to achieve their goals.
My role involves ensuring our clients remain compliant, as well as supporting their business growth and helping them to be more efficient. I like to think that I don’t just want the best for my clients, but that I also want the best for the firm. I myself have grown and developed here and I am grateful for the training and the support we give one another as a team.

What's your goal for the future: To achieve more, to give more and to love more.
I like being able to form relationships with our clients to help them get the most out of their business. It means I can really be involved in their company and add a personal touch.
Since I am AAT qualified, my background means I’m responsible for reviewing our clients’ accounting systems. As I specialise in using Microsoft Excel in conjunction with the different accounting systems, I’m able to advise our clients on improvements they can make to be more efficient and accurate.
I’m always willing to go the extra mile, helping our clients answer the most important questions of “Where am I losing money?” or “Where am I most profitable?
In my role I conduct statutory audits for companies that require this service.
What I love most about my job is the logical approach to ensuring that financial statements provide a true and fair view of the company being audited.
I am an ACCA Fellow and an AAT Member, and I am looking to specialise in analytics and programming.
Outside of work, I enjoy running and dining out.

I started working at Robson Laidler in 1985 as office junior. Having gained a business studies qualification and an RSA Distinction in typing I have progressed nicely through the various levels of my career. So, it is safe to say I know what I’m doing!
I manage the smooth running of the office on a day-to-day basis, ensuring deadlines are met and go that extra mile to ensure everything is done on time.
The thing I love most about my job is the people I work with; some of whom I have worked closely with for over 20 years! I also love speaking to clients when I cover reception duties.
I love a Saturday, as that’s when I can take off my work hat and look after my 4-year-old great niece whilst her Mum is at work, we have so much fun together. I also love trying new places for food and drink and going on holiday.
Goal for the future? To win the lottery and retire!
As a senior client manager in the audit department, I work with a diverse range of clients across various sectors, preparing accounts, facilitating audits and assisting with compliance requirements. I work mostly on group accounts, audits and charity accounts.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is the people I interact with – from the team I work and train with, as well as the interesting clients I meet along the way.
I am also a committee member of our Community Foundation working group, where I assist in facilitating donation requests.

Outside of work, I play football and regularly go to the gym, making sure I keep active.
I love all things beauty, whether that’s getting a bouncy blow-dry, having a manicure or pedicure, or trying out an eyebrow lamination.

I have a varied exposure to the services we provide to our clients, yet my general day to day responsibilities include the preparation of accounts and financial statements for GP practices.
The thing I love most about my role is the different people I get to speak with on a daily basis and the great relationships I get to build, whether this be with practice managers or GPs.
I achieved my AAT qualification back in 2022 and I am currently part way through my ICAEW professional exams.
Outside of work you will find me in keeping active with my friends and family or in the cinema using my unlimited pass!
What's you goal for the future? To complete my professional exams and continue to help clients in the best way I can.
Some people call me the mother of Robson Laidler, not just because I have worked here for a very long time, but because as well as my daily role as a tax advisor, where I prepare tax returns, P11D forms and deal with a whole host of tax compliance queries I also coordinate most of the the giving back initiatives we do here at the firm.
I was shortlisted in the Chronicle Sunshine Fund’s Glass Slipper Awards in the Unsung Hero category and NE Youth’s International Women’s Day Awards in the Everyday Hero category.
I love the variety of my role; I enjoy building a real connection with clients, to be sufficiently aware of their families so I can contact and congratulate them on special occasions. I am also passionate about our community and in particular waving the flag for our local charities; Children North East, Marie Curie Hospice Newcastle, West End Foodbank and the Look for a Book campaign.
I also help various community projects in the area that I live and where I grew up. I believe the smallest act of kindness can really lift someone’s day in ways you may never be aware of.
Goal for the future? To see Robson Laidler’s CSR group reach a charity target of £250,000 before 2025.
My role involves me undertaking the preparation of management accounts onsite at client premises, accounts preparation and audit assignments for a wide range of limited companies, charities and groups.
Over my time at Robson Laidler, I’ve grown significantly and am now the lead auditor on assignments. This role requires strong time management, direct communication with clients, and overseeing the development of junior team members, all of which I thoroughly enjoy.
What excites me most about my work is the variety each client brings. Every audit presents a new challenge, allowing me to apply different aspects of my knowledge and continually learn.
I am currently AAT Level 3 qualified and have begun studying towards my Level 4 qualification.
One of my proudest professional achievements to date is being shortlisted for the Business Insider Young Professionals Awards 2024!
Outside of work, I can often be found at the pub! Visiting my friends at university or exploring a new country.

There’s so much to enjoy in my job. Every day is different and I enjoy seeing the firm and our clients in the press and on social media. One of the top questions I get asked is, “How can we gain more exposure for our services” and I love being able to use my experience to answer that.
I’m also a busy working Mum, so outside of work I love to go on adventures with my children Lola and Joel. I also enjoy running, walking and cycling to keep fit.

I’m naturally curious and so I love going into clients’ different work environments when preparing their accounts and audit testing and really get under the skin of what they do and what they want to achieve.
I qualified from Newcastle University with a Masters in Maths and as part of my apprenticeship with RL I am now ACA qualified.
When I am not at work I am a big gamer and love to play video games and board games, as well as reading and baking.
Goal for the future? To gain more responsibility in the firm. My personal goal is for me and my family to lead a happy and comfortable life.

I get asked a broad range of queries from clients relating to compliance and general day to day problems that they are facing within their business. This is what I love about my job – problem solving! It’s very satisfying to see a clients’ reaction to something that has been troubling them.
Lately I’ve also been busy setting up clients on cloud based software to help them get their financial info in real time and therefore helping them to plan more effectively for the future.
Outside of work I enjoy going to watch the Sunderland AFC matches and caring for my horse Baily, who we used to compete in cross country.
I’ve travelled far and wide working in in the field of tax. I first trained in Leeds before moving to Lloyd’s of London (yes, in the shiny building!) From there I moved back up north after 7 years in the capital before working as the tax manager for a large motor dealership group and, more recently, as a senior tax manager in a big 4 firm.
My experience means I take on a variety of work here at Robson Laidler, which is something I love. I can go from dealing with a relatively small PAYE tax query to attending a meeting with HMRC regarding a major corporate tax enquiry where large amounts of tax are at stake! But in any case, the culture is always warm and friendly here which encourages good communication with our clients.
When I’m not in the office, I spend most of my time ferrying my children around to various activities. I look forward to the time when I have more of it to myself!
What’s your goal for the future? My goal is to survive my children’s teenage years and come out the other end smiling.
On a daily basis you will find me preparing accounts and audits for our clients.
I enjoy working for Robson Laidler as the management team gives me so much encouragement and space to grow in my role. As such I am currently training for ACA accreditation, and I am already AAT trained.

I'm Robson Laidler born and bred, and have been primarily involved in audit, but I have branched out more recently into heading up our Business Accelerator services, in particular research and development claims and cashflow forecasting. I love discovering where clients are now, where do they want to be, and it’s my job to show them how to get there in a timely manner.
Outside of that, you'll find me engaging in various sports, particularly rugby and cycling, or cooking up some kind of wonderful dish!

I'm James, and my passion is all things marketing!
I am one of Robson Laidler’s apprentices from the 2024 intake, so I’m relatively new to the firm, but I’ve enjoyed every day so far!
Having recently left school, I’m still learning the ins and outs of accounting and finance. I’m excited to have been enrolled in the AAT Level 3 course and look forward to gaining professional qualifications as I continue my career journey.
As an Accounts Assistant, my role involves preparing accounts for a wide range of businesses, providing me with valuable hands-on experience. What I love most about my job is working alongside my friendly, supportive and entertaining colleagues, who make me laugh every day.
Outside of work I love to travel, watch live music and play cricket and rugby. I’m also a dedicated Newcastle United supporter, and while watching them can sometimes be stressful, I still find it incredibly fun!
Goal for the future? To become a qualified Chartered Accountant and gain lots of experience working here at Robson Laidler.
As a paraplanner, I support our financial advisers by facilitating the advice they provide. This includes managing pension and investment transfers and conducting product and fund research.
I graduated from Newcastle University in 2021 with a degree in History and Philosophy and began my career in finance shortly after. I now have a CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and particularly enjoy researching and assisting with complex products such as SSAS, EIS, and AIM.
What I enjoy most about my job is researching the variety of client plans that have emerged due to numerous legislative changes. Investigating these plans helps expand my knowledge of the financial services industry and allows us to continuously improve our services, helping clients achieve their financial objectives.
Outside of work, I am an avid fan of Newcastle United and Gateshead FC, often attending games or watching them on TV. I also enjoy going to music festivals and concerts.
What’s your goal for the future:
I plan to complete more exams to further develop my knowledge and enhance client service, with the ultimate objective of becoming a financial adviser.
Working in the business innovation team, my role includes, preparing, calculating, and filing corporation financial statements, as well as submitting confirmation statements.
I am a qualified accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Certified Accountants. I previously managed the sole trader and partnership department in my previous role, before developing my corporate skills when I joined Robson Laidler.
I am the health advocate for our Durham office and passionate about ensuring the wellbeing of our staff is a priority so I’m often managing health and fitness campaigns as part of our Better Health at Work Scheme.
I absolutely love problem solving and the fact that I work with the best group of people makes my job so enjoyable, together we strive to help clients achieve their goals.
My hobbies include travelling both in the UK and abroad. I also love cooking and trying out new recipes on my husband!
Goal for the future: Adventuring in Europe!
My role varies from preparing documentation for our advisors, to liaising with providers to complete fund switches and processing client transactions.
I enjoy the teamwork and sharing our common goal, which is to provide our customers with service excellence.
My background as a Mortgage and Insurance Advisor, coupled with my CeMAP qualification, gives me more all rounded experience in the role and allows me to assist our advisors in this area.
Outside of work I am a keen runner and have completed the Great North Run several times I also enjoy traveling and visiting new places.
Goal for the future? I want to build my knowledge and look for further industry related qualifications. My personal life goal is for my children to be happy and successful!
On a day-to-day basis I work in our Durham office answering the telephones, helping with client enquiries and putting clients in touch with the right person to help them further. I also enter all invoices and adjustments onto our data management system.

As a client manager in our business innovation department my role is to create a real connection with clients and understand what makes them tick.
I am a ICAEW qualified Chartered Accountant and have worked within our Audit department for almost 10 years gaining experience across a wide range of areas such as limited companies, charities and pension schemes. My specialist area is working with solicitor clients. By thoroughly understanding their industry I can help them to achieve their goals.
I am also a trustee of PG CPR, a charity which helps provide defibrillators to the local community and to assist in the learning of life saving CPR.
Goal for the future? To continue to develop my career and relationships with my clients.
With my background in audit and tax, I’m responsible for looking for opportunities for businesses to grow and to minimise their tax burden. I also specialise in areas such as assistance with sales and acquisitions, corporate restructuring & share valuations, often working closely with solicitors.
One thing I think we do really well is providing a close working relationship with our clients, because it helps develop a strong, long standing partnerships which opens the door for opportunities that can help clients develop their business and achieve their goals.

What’s your goal for the future? To get fit again.
As Payroll Assistant my role involves processing end to end Real Time Information (RTI) submissions, pension auto-enrolment compliance and more latterly managing Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme submissions.
It is a very busy role and the whole team work so well together to reach excellent standards for our clients.
Outside of work, I enjoy writing. I have completed a Roleplaying Game which I hope to have self-published in 2021 and I am currently working on the final draft of a novel.
Goal for the future? Learn more about the ever-expanding role of payroll within business.
As I am still relatively new to the industry, everyday is a school day!
I have a degree in Civil Engineering and have recently completed AAT levels 2 and 3 and I am currently studying the level 4 qualification.
I am currently learning how to prepare accounts and audits for limited companies and charities. I am enjoying building my knowledge each day with the support of such a great team around me.
Outside of work I enjoy football, running, darts and spending time with my son.

I joined Team RL in the summer of 2024 on its apprenticeship training programme as an Accounts Assistant and I haven’t looked back! I am thoroughly enjoying being part of the team and learning new things every day. On a day-to-day basis I help to prepare accounts and do the bookkeeping for businesses, which allows me to gain hands-on experience and develop my skills. The team are very friendly and supportive, and I am excited to have got started on achieving my AAT qualification.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active by going to the gym, playing football and going to Newcastle United matches, as I’m a proud season ticket holder!
Goal for the future: To become a Chartered Accountant, as well as seeing as much of the world as possible!
As the friendly face of our Chester-le-Street office, I’m the first person who will greet you when you walk through our doors, always ready with a warm smile and ready to pop the kettle on.
I love the variety of my role – no two days are ever the same, and I enjoy using my people skills to interact with everyone who comes to our office, ensuring they feel comfortable and at home.
Outside of RL, I’m the chairman of a community theatre group, where I have worked for over 25 years. We perform three productions a year, and much of my spare time is dedicated to this. When I’m not at the theatre, you’ll often find me enjoying a drive in my 1967 Triumph Vitesse Convertible or travelling – my second passion – as I love exploring new places and cultures.
Goal for the future? To stay happy and healthy and explore this wonderful world.
My role is to help look after the people here at RL and ensure it retains its title as "one of the best places to work in the UK". It allows me to be involved in several working groups that help shape the culture of the firm.
I particularly enjoy being involved in administering our apprentice recruitment program. This includes encouraging young people to consider a career at RL through school visits, apprenticeship open evenings and organising work experience placements. I also guide them through the interview process and ensure that successful candidates have everything they need for their first day in their new career.
I’m naturally quite curious and have a low threshold for boredom so love a role where no two days are the same and that’s exactly what I have.
Outside of work I love going to gigs, the cinema, the theatre, galleries, eating (and drinking) out and spending time with friends and family.
Goal for the Future: I’d like to get involved in a charity that helps disadvantaged females in the North East develop their talents and realise their potential.
I work in the Business Innovation team preparing annual accounts and completing daily bookkeeping and VAT returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Every day is different. I love working with an incredible team who are so supportive.
Outside of work I have a beautiful son Archie who keeps me very busy, we love nothing more than a trip to the park to feed the ducks!

I support the advisers and paraplanners at Robson Laidler Wealth by preparing client documentation, managing provider communications and ensuring our records are accurate and compliant. My role helps everything run smoothly behind the scenes so clients receive the highest standard of service.
In previous roles I worked in legal and lender services for several years primarily within regulated environments. This gave me a strong foundation in compliance, documentation handling and process-driven work.
Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, quiet weekends and the occasional crime or legal drama.
My goal for the future is to continue building a strong foundation in financial planning and contribute meaningfully to both the team and the clients we support.
Working in our Durham office, I love the variety of my work and that no two days are the same. I am AAT qualified and so I work on the preparation of business accounts across various industries as well as personal vat returns.
Outside of work I like to go running and attend fitness classes and there’s nothing better than drinks in a sunny beer garden on a weekend.
I work alongside our GP and dental clients, preparing their accounts and offering advice on various important matters.
Over the past 10 years, I've specialised in healthcare clients, gaining a deep understanding of NHS pensions and the optimal business structures for professionals in this sector.
I enjoy the diverse interactions with clients, which can range from addressing complex business structures to answering simple bookkeeping queries.
When I’m not assisting GPs and dentists with their finances, I stay active with family bike rides and walking adventures. I also have a decent collection of half-read history books!
What is your goal for the future?
To retain my sanity until my kids reach adulthood! Professionally, my immediate goal is to continue providing a client service that makes a positive difference.
Building strong relationships with clients and helping them problem solve is what gets me out of bed in the morning!
As an ACCA qualified audit and accounts senior, there are so many questions I get asked on a daily basis to help our corporate and charity clients succeed. Being able to utilise my skills to help drive this success gives me great satisfaction.
I also help with software queries and train clients in new accounting software.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to my caravan in Kippford (Dumfries and Galloway) with friends, family and my two children.

I Joined the Robson Laidler Payroll team in 2018 and have almost 5 years’ experience in the payroll sector.
My role involves maintaining and processing a variety of payrolls for businesses in a timely and accurate manner.
I’m currently pursuing an AAT qualification and I’m looking forward to completing this soon.
Besides payroll, I’m a very busy Mum of two boys Eesa and Emad. As a family we enjoy travelling and exploring new places. If we aren’t travelling, then we’ll be found attending Eesa’s cricket matches and cheering him on!
Getting out to meet clients and see how different businesses operate across a range of industries is what I love most about my role!

I have been a specialist in charity accounts for over 25 years, and have spent much of that time working as a charity trustee.
I am also the lead contact for corporate finance within Robson Laidler, dealing with everything from company valuation work and due diligence to company disposals and tax planning.
I like to think that I am the first port of call for our clients for ad-hoc business advice. I like the excitement of not knowing who will ring me up today and what advice they will be looking for. Solving problems and meeting new people is great, and only by doing this do you get to understand the real business behind the numbers.
Things I used to enjoy have evolved to cater for my two young kids. I used to own a yacht have done the tall ships race 3 times. Nowadays, you’ll find me cycling, visiting historic places and growing vegetables – I grow excellent sweetcorn and pumpkins for Halloween!
What's your goal for the future: In my retirement, I would like to own an apartment in the Alps so that I can go skiing in the winter and walking in the summer. I would also like to plant a little vineyard in the North East and produce some wine. I used to have vines at home before I moved and was successful in making a lot of wine even though it was strong stuff!
I have 20 years’ experience working in payroll, and I use my knowledge to take away the stress of employers processing payroll and Auto Enrolment themselves. Instead, they’ve now got more free time to concentrate on the core aspects of running their business.
I enjoy the variety of payroll types that Robson Laidler brings. This allows me to build working relationships with people from many walks of life and of course my colleagues in the team.
When not in the office, you’ll find me enjoying days out with the family, particularly camping trips. I’m also branching into the world of photography, although I’m still a bit of a newbie with it!
I have just joined our Payroll department after working 'front of house' in the business support team at Robson Laidler for many years, I am now ready for a new challenge with another amazing team!

I've been an Independent Financial Advisor for over 20 years and specialise in retirement and investment planning. It’s my job to help our clients see their financial future and allow them to make life changing decisions, whether it be bringing forward their retirement or planning a special holiday.
My clients often comment on how I explain the complex in a simple manner. Often, they have several questions around retirement and investing, and I try to educate and help them to ignore the constant bombardment of investment “news.”
Outside of work, you’ll find me practicing my golf swing or eating out. I’m also a member of our local church.
I specialise in charity audits and accounts and this means I’m often preparing the different paperwork for clients and also giving general advice.
With my passion for charities, I’m often getting involved in the charity work we do here at Robson Laidler as well as helping make an impact in the local community. Outside of that, I enjoy playing golf and the piano, and listening to people comment on how I am (supposedly) older than I look!

I was reigning North East Accountant of the Year from 2019 to 2021 but I was happy to hand over the title this year when Robson Laidler became Accountancy Firm of the Year!
It is really rewarding when you have helped someone and can see the improvement – that’s what I love about my job! A lot of our clients just keep plodding along because everything is working, but the impact of us helping them to accelerate further is phenomenal.
Robson Laidler has also been a fundamental part of my own development. My job before this was a paper round, which just goes to show how long I’ve been here! The company has allowed me to gain my professional qualifications and work with companies of different industries and sizes.
Making memories outside of work too is also important to me, especially with family. It really is important to me to be there for my children and spend quality time with them doing things they love.
What’s your goal for the future? To become a truly trusted advisor that clients turn to for all aspects of business advice, not just the finances.
As I have a passion for working with figures, balancing things up, problem solving and spreadsheets, to me my job is perfect!
I do the bookkeeping for our Durham office and prepare the firms accounts and debt collection. As well as this I am the Firm’s Better Heath at Work advocate and first aider and enjoy running our health and wellbeing campaigns.
Outside of work I am doing a Criminal Psychology course, which further fulfils my interest in working things out! I also love horse riding and baking.
What is your goal for the future? I want to do the longest zip wire in Wales!
As credit controller for the firm, my ultimate responsibility is collecting outstanding and overdue payments due to us.
Before joining Robson Laidler, I spent over twenty years in a similar role. Even after all that time, what I enjoy the most is that no two days are the same—you never quite know what might come up. Sometimes, getting people to part with their money can be challenging, so when I manage to recover funds that have been owed for a while, I see it as a little—or sometimes big—win!
I am huge Sunderland AFC fan (living in Newcastle!) and go to most games - home and away. I am also the treasurer of the Newcastle based branch of Sunderland AFC Supporters Club. When I am not tied up with football I like to go to music gigs.
What’s your goal for the future? We are fortunate to have family and property in Italy, so my wife and I aim to retire there and run a small B&B and perhaps even a vineyard.
My specialism is in FCA-regulated businesses, including insurance brokers and financial advisors. Because of this, I work with our clients on a regular basis, remaining closely involved in their affairs at all levels.
Clients often comment on my attention to detail, which comes in handy when helping them minimise their tax liabilities and take advantage of tax planning opportunities.
Outside of work, I’m often working on my bucket list, which is to try and get to as many major sporting events as possible! So far, I’ve been to the 2018 World Cup, the 2012 Olympics, Euro 2016 and the World Athletics Championships.
I am responsible for keeping clients’ financial records up to date. I enjoy the variety of my role, and building new relationships with clients and colleagues. When I’m not studying for my level 4 AAT, I am busy being a Mum to my two beautiful girls Evie and Elise, they are both so full of energy and we love going on adventures.
Goal for the future: To pass all my exams and become qualified.
As a member of the Audit team, I specialise in conducting statutory audits for companies that require them. I enjoy the variety of industries I work with and find it fascinating to uncover what drives each client’s business.
I am AAT qualified and currently pursuing my ICAEW qualification.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my husband (also an accountant!) and our Dachshund Miggy. I also enjoy yoga and dining out on weekends.
Goal for the future? To develop my career and own a Grand National winning horse.
I started at Robson Laidler aged 17, working my way through qualifications until I became AAT and ACCA qualified in 2012. Now, I lead the healthcare department, working on my own portfolio of GPs, Pharmacists and GP and dental practices. I regularly attend healthcare
conferences to stay at the forefront of sector requirements and I am keynote speaker at the Annual Management In Practice Conference in Newcastle.
I enjoy problem solving, so I’m known for diving into client queries and being able to help both clients and the rest of the team.
Outside of work, I have a son who keeps me busy, and I also enjoy spending time with the family.
As a cloud accounting specialist my main role is working with client records to prepare vat returns, CIS returns and management accounts within cloud-based software and demonstrating the advantages of having this info at your fingertips.
I also carry out the onboarding of new clients for the Business Innovation department, which includes training and ongoing support needed on the software and integrated apps we use.
I am AAT qualified and I have vast experience using a lot of different software packages. This means I am ideally placed for my current role and I enjoy helping clients with the problems they encounter on a day-to-day basis.
Away from work I am a keen F1 fan and I love to go on holiday, either skiing down a mountain or exploring on a city break.
Working in our Tax Compliance Team, my work includes the preparation and submission of Self-Assessment tax returns, trust, and estate tax returns and P11Ds. I also provide general tax advice to clients and love being able to help answer their concerns or questions with my 30+ years’ experience! I enjoy the variety in my role and making real connections with clients.
As well as my tax credentials, I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Accountancy and I am a part-qualified Certified Accountant.
Outside of work I’m a keen tennis player and enjoy this sport to keep fit.
Goal for the future? To continue to uphold the Firm’s values and behaviours and provide clients’ with an excellent service.
I’m a Payroll administrator AKA a magician! I process clients’ payrolls, pensions, BACS payments, issue payslips and pension correspondence. I like to take the mystery out of payroll – it is not as big and scary as everyone thinks.
I enjoy freeing up clients’ time so they can concentrate on running their business.
I have my CIPP payroll technician certificate and I particularly enjoy processing NHS pension and GP payrolls.
Outside of work I’m a busy wife and Mummy and I love to knit and crochet – I just wish I had more hours in the day to do more of what I love.
Goal for the future? Retire before I’m 60, but short term to continue to learn and evolve and provide the best support to my team and clients.
As an Audit Assistant, I support the running of audits for our clients and handle accounts preparation for small to medium-sized businesses, as well as charitable organisations.
What I enjoy most about my role is the variety it offers - balancing time between the office and visiting client sites, which differ based on the type of client. I really enjoy the face-to-face interaction and gaining insights into clients' work environments.
I am currently working towards my Level 2 AAT qualification to further develop my skills and expertise.
When I’m not completing audits, I can be found in my kitchen baking or enjoying my other passion which is crafting, knitting and crochet.
Goal for the future: To be AAT qualified with the end goal of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
I have worked at Robson Laidler since leaving university and in that time have gained my professional qualification and progressed to the role I am now in.
I work with a range of clients across different sectors, providing general advice, helping clients through their compliance requirements by ensuring all year-end accounts and audits run as smoothly as possible.
I am also the training manager for all our ACA & AAT trainees, guiding them through their qualifications and dealing with any concerns and problems.
Over the years I have gained experience with corporate clients and focus particularly on Group accounts / audit, as well as pension schemes.
Outside of work I am very family orientated and can often be found on a long walk with my husband and dog. I also take an interest in interior design so am regularly planning my next home purchase or project.
As a Healthcare Senior specialising in the dental industry, my primary responsibilities include the preparation of accounts and financial statements for dental practices and associates, with a particular focus on building enduring relationships with these clients.
What I find most rewarding about my role is the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of personalities. Building meaningful relationships is what makes me tick, and I relish the chance to continually expand my knowledge in dental accounting .
In terms of qualifications, I have achieved my AAT qualification and am currently on the path to obtaining my full ICAEW chartered qualification, having already completed half of the required exams.
When I’m not doing dental accounts, you’ll find me socialising with friends and family, exploring new places throughout the country.
Goal for the future: Complete my studies and gain full chartered accountant status.
