As a recent report from the Office of National Statistics highlights that we are living much longer than previous generations, it is becoming increasingly more important to get later life planning in place.

The fastest growing age group is those aged 85 or over and this is expected to double over the next 25 years.

At the same time, recent pension freedom rules (introduced in 2016) have created a need for ongoing financial advice through retirement. With pension income required to support people for longer, ensuring the right plans are in place is crucial.

As such, Robson Laidler is now one of the only firms in the region that can offer a ‘one stop shop’ for all later life planning advice including wills, powers of attorney, probate as well as accounts, chartered tax advice, financial and retirement planning, and investment advice.

Robson Laidler Wealth director Amanda Cowie has recently gained accreditation from the Society of Later Life Advisers “SOLLA”, making her one of only three Independent Financial Advisers in Northumberland and Tyne & Wear to hold this.

The Later Life Advisers Accreditation has now become established as the industry standard of excellence for those advising older clients and their families.  It demonstrates that an adviser has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, such as the ability to explain complex matters in a way that is more easily understood.
